Critical Links takes edgeBOX to the Indian market

Sapo opens laboratory at the University of Aveiro

Critical Links has just increased its participation in the Indian market through a partnership with HCL Infosystems, leader of the IT segment in that country.

At issue is the availability of the edgeBOX solution, a platform «all in one«aimed at SMEs consisting of an IP-PBX and VoIP gateway, router, security appliance, bandwidth management (QoS), storage, WiFI, and collaboration applications that integrate voice, data, network and security services.

For implementation in the Indian market, the solution was renamed, receiving the name HCL net edgeBOX. Product distribution has already started with Indian technology with the collaboration of its network of 200 partners.

In September 2007, Critical Links announced that it would be financed at € 4 million by venture capitalists InovCapital, Change Partners and ASK / ISQ Capital. At the time, the company stated that this support could give a new impetus to the edgeBox’s marketing strategy in the international market, something that is happening now with the product’s commercialization in India.
