Creating annotations in the new Gmail interface

The new Gmail gained a sidebar with shortcuts to some Google apps, including Keep, the search giant’s annotation tool. With the integration, users can create notes and lists directly in the email inbox, without having to open other tabs in the browser. In addition, the feature does not require the use of other platforms with this same proposal, such as Evernote.

Step 1. On the new Gmail home screen, click on the light bulb icon to open the Google Keep tool;

Step 2. To create a text-only note, click on «Create a note …»;

Step 3. Enter the title of the note in the bold field and type the note below. Press «Done» to end the action;

Step 4. If you want to create a record with checkboxes, press the «New list» button, as highlighted below;

Step 5. As in the text note, type the title of the note in the bold section. Click on «+ List item» and write the first topic. When you start typing, a check list box will appear next to the item. To delete a line, position the cursor on it and press the «X» (delete item from the list). When the note is ready, press «Done»;

Step 6. To delete a note, click on the three-dot menu and select «Delete»;

Step 7. Another possibility of the menu (shown in the step above) is «Open note in Keep». In this option, a new browser tab will open with the full version of Google Keep and all its features. Note that notes created from Gmail are saved.
