COVID-19: Google gives free access to G Suite features to help anyone working remotely

In the face of the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), several employees of companies and students were forced to work or study from home, especially in areas strongly affected by the virus. To help bring a little more normality to the day-to-day lives of those in such a situation, Google has announced that it will provide some premium G Suite video conferencing features free of charge.

According to Javier Soltero, Vice President of the G Suite department, in a post on the Mountain View giant's blog, free access will be available until July 1 this year.

We are committed to supporting our users and customers during this difficult time and we will continue to adapt our infrastructure to their needs, ensuring stable access throughout this period, says the official.

Students and workers who are G Suite customers will be able to access video conferences for up to 250 participants through Hangouts, with the possibility to record meetings on Google Drive. In addition, customers will be able to broadcast live to up to 100,000 viewers from an online domain.
