Coronavirus: Xiaomi Mi 10 production affected

The great outbreak of coronavirus has affected the smartphone market. After the cancellation of MWC 2020, OnePlus announced that the launch event for the OnePlus 8 line will be online, while in our country, Samsung and Motorola temporarily stopped manufacturing smartphones due to shortage of components.

Now, due to restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the production of the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro has been affected. Through a post on Weibo, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's CEO, confirmed that the manufacturing is experiencing problems, but the executive decided to create a questionnaire asking consumers which version they intend to buy. In this way, the company produces them in greater quantity.

Lei Jun reveals that production of the Mi 10 line has been affected

Unsurprisingly, the most basic (and cheap) version of the Mi 10, which delivers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, came out ahead. Second, we have the variant with 8GB + 256 of the Mi 10 Pro, while the same device with 12GB + 512GB closed the "podium".

So it looks like these will be the models that Xiaomi will prioritize in its production. Unfortunately, the Chinese manufacturer has not yet revealed the launch date of the Mi 10 line on the global market, but considering the manufacturing problems caused by the coronavirus, there is a possibility that this will take a while to happen.

The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are the most powerful smartphones from Xiaomi at the moment, having been launched on the 13th of this month. They stand out for delivering a 108MP camera, Snapdragon 865 processor and high capacity battery. Below you can see the complete specifications:
