Portuguese taxpayers have two new facilities available online. The first makes it possible to request a Free Power of Attorney electronically free of charge and is intended for holders of the Citizen Card. Citizens only have to fill a form with the data so that the power of attorney is available for consultation online or be sent to you on a floppy disk or CD at home.
This measure allows citizens with lawsuits in court to stop being obliged to make a forensic power of attorney and simplifies the processes that do not need public deed, among which, those referring to the purchase and sale of real estate.
The second novelty is related to the availability of building booklets for rustic buildings on the website of the Electronic Declarations. The new functionality allows taxpayers to request or consult the passbooks, as well as the respective certificates of matrix content on the website, through a password for access and free of charge.
The initiative aims to computerize 50 percent of a total of 11.6 million rustic building matrices by the end of this year. It should be noted that so far, nearly 8.5 million rustic buildings have been computerized, that is, more than 72 percent of the total.
