The fourth edition of the International Conference of the Portuguese Association of Contact Centers began today. The sector will debate issues such as the importance of training human resources, certification or competitiveness of the Portuguese market as a center providing this type of services until tomorrow.

Pedro Champalimaud, president of the association started the work revealing that the APCC today concentrates 50 companies, representing 12 sectors. 30 percent of associates are outsourcers, 22 percent are from the IT area and 18 percent from the financial area.

The official also announced a partnership with Datamonitor that aims to ensure the regular collection of data related to the Portuguese market, an effort that the association believes will have an impact on the sectorโ€™s visibility at the international level.

The APCC also plans to keep the work of the certification area as a priority and points to the first quarter of next year to arrive at a transversal certification model that can be used by any company with this type of service regardless of its business area.
