Reinforcing its position in the Iberian market for software solutions for pharmacies, Consiste has just announced the acquisition of Pulso Informática, a Spanish company that currently holds the second position in this market in the neighboring country. The value of the business was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Consiste now manages facilities in more than 5,600 pharmacies in both countries and is part of Pulso’s network of 25 distributors, with representation in the Balearic and Canary Islands.

Consiste has been pursuing its growth and internationalization strategy, developing projects in Portugal, Spain, Latin America, Africa and Asia. Last year the company had a turnover of 45 million euros and expects to grow at least 10% in 2006.

According to the press release, Pulso Informática holds 15% of the Spanish market, with 3,100 pharmacies installed, having registered a sales volume of around 2.5 million euros in 2005.

It should be remembered that Consiste was founded in 1984, having specialized in the pharmacy sector, subsequently expanding its activity to other sectors, namely health, banking, industry and distribution.
