In the world of consumer electronics, we are living the trend of eliminating the edges: with each generation, we have screens that get closer and closer to the ends of products. Completely eliminating borders, on the other hand, is a different art – and one that, for now, should remain only in the world of concepts.
This is exactly what the designer Pallav Raj imagined: a “Apple Watch Series 6” with infinite screen, touching the edges of the clock. See how it looks:
Raj’s video undeniably looked very much like the Apple’s promotional materials – and may even trick a possible unsuspecting one who ignores the final seconds of the clip.
The Apple Watch itself was also very interesting: especially in a product as small as it is, the use of surfaces is crucial to offer a better user experience. On the other hand, it is difficult to say how close (or distant) we are to a technology that allows this complete elimination of the edges.
Raj chose not to show other possible features of the “Apple Watch Series 6”, but the rumors industry has already realized this: according to recent speculation, we are likely to see a watch with sleep monitoring, new mental health features and a possible meter of blood oxygen levels.
In order to know what it will look like, however, we will have to wait a few more months.
