A failure in the computer systems, unspecified, will be the cause of the delay in the payment of unemployment benefits for the month of March, ensures the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity. The problem will have affected the payment of social benefits to around 360 thousand unemployed, who between today and tomorrow should already see the situation resolved, according to statements by Helena André’s office to Diário de Notícias, which advances the information on delays.
According to the ministry, the «computer problem» responsible for the situation generated a delay of one day in the processing of subsidies, but «given the necessary procedures for bank transfers, that day of delay ended up translating into several and the beneficiaries they will only have the money available in their accounts on Monday or Tuesday «, says a note quoted by the newspaper.
In the case of installments that follow by check, the ministry stresses that there is also a time limit «necessary for CTT to deliver», which delays the delivery of checks even earlier this week.
