Compta retreats in business of 400 thousand euros

تغريم اللجنة البولندية للاتصالات بمقدار 127 مليون

Portuguese company Compta, which supplies computer equipment and services, announced that it had withdrawn from the purchase of 90 percent of the national company ExactBrain, whose acquisition it had communicated in June 2009.

The deal, in the amount of 400 thousand euros, remains to be concluded because the companies «understood that it was of mutual interest not to continue the operation, in the manner initially envisaged, in order to give total autonomy and flexibility to both (…) in the continuation of the respective strategic plans «, explains Compta in a statement to the CMVM, published today.

The technology companies will now assess «on a case-by-case basis, the opportunities that may arise in the market, not excluding joint participation in projects that require the combination of their individual skills», adds the same source.

Without Exactbrain, Compta will support its activity of providing business continuity at Compta Emerging Business, a business unit that has recently become independent and will transform into a participating company, he told the Securities Market Commission.

Contacted by TeK, ExactBrain confirmed the “termination of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Compta, which was for the purpose of its acquisition by this company and was the subject of privileged information to the market of 06/18/2009 and 10.05.2010”.

He also informed that he had signed another agreement with two companies located in Angola, as a result of which ExactBrain Angola was created, 60% owned by Angolan partners, and that it will develop its activity in that country – which the company expects to come happening “in the coming months”.
