Seven years ago, we talked about a simple and useful cleaning application for Mac called TrashMe, from Jib. Since then the application has evolved a lot, now with several new options.
As we explained earlier, this app is a utility for uninstalling applications without leaving behind files or settings that will never be used again; that is, it will help you get rid of electronic waste instead.
You probably already thought that an application only needs to be moved to the Trash to be uninstalled, right? This is not completely true since many of the files created by the application (temporary files, caches, settings) are still left behind. With TrashMe, you will never allow these files to fix your Mac!
But it's not just apps that he uninstalls, it's not. Many widgets, plugins and items in the preferences panel that you may no longer use can also be removed from the system altogether.
As a good cleaning app, the app also cleans caches and erase unwanted files like incomplete downloads / ”rfos”, Desktop.ini, etc. In addition, you can create your list of “favorites” to protect specific information about an app, such as its license. You can still see / remove startup items and some hidden preferences.
In the general settings of the app, it is possible to activate features such as "force" the cleaning of the Trash when any of the files inside it cannot be deleted, warn when the Trash is full (and adjust this notification according to the size in gigabytes) and also detect when an app is moved to it. Not to mention that the application also goes well with the new MacBooks Pro, being possible to authenticate with Touch ID and use some options through the Touch Bar.
