The Competition Authority ordered Zon to suspend the offer of cinema tickets for customers of its cable television service for 90 days.

During the period, the AdC will analyze the offer and decide whether or not the company will have to cancel it permanently. Zon has already reacted and guarantees that it will appeal the regulator’s decision, using the appropriate legal means.

The campaign of the company that owns TV Cabo gave customers the chance to watch a maximum of 52 free cinema sessions in Zon Lusomundo theaters, more than 200 across the country, using their MyZon Card.

The reason for the AdC’s decision were complaints filed by other cinema distributors, such as Medeia Filmes, which considers the initiative a risk to the financial health of the competition to Lusomundo for channeling many customers to a single distributor.
