Company wants to run Windows apps on Android and Chromebook

CodeWeavers announced this week that it plans to create a solution for the Android mobile platform and notebooks with the Chrome OS operating system to run Windows applications and programs.

CodeWeavers has currently been working on the CrossOver platform, which is based on the open source project Wine and allows running Windows applications on Mac and Linux, and recently gained an integration to also work on Android.

With the positive scenario underway, CodeWeavers has developed an experimental version of CrossOver with support for Android and Chromebooks so that Windows applications can run on both Google platforms.
