Company uses deepfake technology to 'include' customers in porn

A company in the porn industry launched on Monday (20) a way to monetize deepfake, videos in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used to change people’s faces. Producer Naughty America has launched a service where its customers can make a fantasy with the help of technology: put their faces on top of porn stars, and vice versa and become adult entertainment stars in their own films.

In demonstrative videos, the company published the original clip with porn actresses Zoey Monroe and Blair Williams and an edited one, in which their faces are exchanged. The realistic result of deepfake is achieved through machine learning and other Artificial Intelligence resources. With them, the algorithms can learn the expressions of a certain person, the way he moves etc. This knowledge is recreated on another face, generating a fake film that is almost impossible to differentiate from original content.

This technology was not invented now. She became known in late 2017, when a Reddit user started posting fake sex videos with celebrities. In addition to pornographic productions, the technique is used to fake speeches by famous politicians and spread fake news.

In the case of Naughty America, the company offers a script to customers to film themselves with certain expressions, in order to guarantee realistic videos. They also use a department of lawyers to ensure that the characters on the recordings are adults and have given consent for editing. «I don’t think you can exist in this industry if you’re not prepared to use this technology,» said Naughty America CEO Andreas Hronopoulos in an interview with the Variety website.
