Company that received investment from Samsung and Foxconn sues Apple for the iPhone X dual camera

Work for the team of lawyers at Apple does not lack.

This week, two more lawsuits were filed, accusing Ma of infringing related patents. iPhone X rear camera and the resource Do Not Disturb While Driving (which has contributed to safety in transit, at least in the USA).

IPhone X Dual Camera

THE Corephotonics, an Israeli company that makes dual cameras for smartphones, had previously sued Apple over the dual camera system of the iPhones 7 Plus and 8 Plus. Interestingly, in January 2017, the company raised $ 15 million in investments from companies like Samsung Ventures, Foxconn, MediaTek and an undisclosed OEM smartphone maker.

In this new process, the company added patent 9,857,568, entitled “miniature telephoto lens assembly”, which was granted last January. That is, basically the same accusation as before, with the addition of a new patent that was not available until then and the inclusion of the new smartphone flagship from Apple.

To complete the coincidences of the judicial world, Corephotonics is being represented by Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, who defended Samsung in its battle against Apple. The case was filed in the Northern California District Court.

In another case, this one initiated at the Eastern District Court of Texas, which usually sides with the accused, the Alert Signal Intellectual Property claimed that Apple has violated four patents related to conditional receipt of alerts, text messages and other forms of communication on smart devices. The patents describe methods of disabling alerts based on the speed of the device, for example.

Such patents were granted between 2012 and 2016 to inventor Gary Shuster, who then transferred the inventions to the intellectual property licensing firm Cerinet. Subsequently, Cerinet transferred everything to Alert Signal Intellectual Property.

Another typical case of Patent troll against Apple, like so many others.
