Company announces the first 3.5 ″ SSD with 50TB (!) Of capacity

The manufacturer Viking Technology announced last week the UHC-Silo SSD, your newest solid state drive. Being a pioneer in the entire market, this new product has incredible 50TB of storage, which means a lot more space and a considerable power reduction compared to conventional HDDs.

The UHC-Silo series SSD has a processor flash state-of-the-art, balancing performance, capacity, cost and energy efficiency, which greatly facilitates tasks that deal with large data, cloud storage, external storage systems, digital images and media, among others.

In addition, its inactive energy consumption is below 10W, while that of active energy reaches 16W; it can also save energy, space and cooling costs by up to 80% per terabyte. The unit can reach a reading speed of 500MB / s and 350MB / s for recording.

The UHC-Silo SSD will have a reasonably priced base, charging around $ 0.40 per GB. It will be available in versions of 25TB and 50TB, with final prices being around US $ 10,000 and US $ 20,000, respectively. In other words, it is not even remotely aimed at the average domestic consumer yet.
