Coming soon on WhatsApp: sharing music, public groups, mentions and larger emojis

I think it’s time to get used to the times when the Whatsapp he lived in the darkness of development, always years behind in resources in relation to his competitors. The Aquarius-era WhatsApp is already among us, my friends, and it is thirsty to show itself good in all aspects, as a strong competitor in the increasingly disputed fight of instant messengers.

Proof of this are the most recent information obtained by the German blog Macerkopf. Some screenshots released by the website and by the specialized Twitter @WABetaInfo, from development versions of the next versions of the app, from the signs of new and interesting features that may be on the way.

Future feature of sending music via WhatsApp

The first one is the possibility to share music with your contacts. Through the published images, it will be possible to share any song saved locally on the device, as well as the millions of them available on Apple Music. The music played directly in the conversation, in a mini-player something very similar to what iMessage does from iOS 10; Just don't ask me how Facebook did (or will do) that considering the stacks of restrictions that Apple imposes on its music service.

In addition, the infamous groups will become much more powerful. We have already reported here that soon links can be generated to invite new members more easily, but with this new wave of leaks, we have also discovered that WhatsApp will have public groups in the Viber footprint in them only specific members can speak, while a number unlimited number of mere mortals only accompanies the discussion.

And there's more: apparently, the application also incorporates the words, already used in competitors. Just type @ and the first characters of the person in question, and the app will give suggestions to auto-complete the service.

Some more news that can reach WhatsApp soon include an intelligent GIF viewer that even automatically detects and extracts the GIF from an internet link, converting and displaying the animation inline in conversation, in MP4 format. Very good! And finally, the great and miraculous novelty (also inspired by iMessage, say) that everyone was waiting for and will glorify on their feet: bigger emojis! Yes, now all the stickers will be three times bigger when sent without text, as already happens with the infamous red heart.

Of course, considering that we are talking about test versions, it may be that these features take a long time to reach version for WhatsApp consumers or even change their mind halfway and cut everyone's tide. Still, it is a very clear sign of the awakening of Facebook folks regarding their ubiquitous messenger in countries like our simple republic. Come on, WhatsApp, I want my giant emojis for yesterday!
