Samsung Electronics Co., the world leader in advanced memory technology, announced today that it has started production in 128GB of built-in memory volume for the next generation of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.
Samsung started producing the new eMMC (embedded multimedia card) 128GB Pro 1500 class at the end of August, which is just a month after it started delivering eMMC Pro products in densities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, quickly completing the industry’s largest eMMC product line.
The new eMMC Pro can read sequential information at a speed of 140 megabytes per second (MB / s) and write at up to 50MB / s, which is five times faster than the old classes. Good news for those who, one day, dream of seeing a iGadget with this capability – although, being produced by Samsung, it is capable of Apple wanting to move further away.[[BGR]
