CIRP also crowns the XR as the most popular iPhone in the US

Echoing the results of a recent Kantar survey, Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) also revealed that the iPhone XR was the best selling model among Apple smartphones in the United States, this time during Apple’s third fiscal quarter, which ended on June 29.

The iPhone XR was responsible, specifically, for 48% of total sales iPhones in that period; adding it to the other two most recent models (iPhone XS and XS Max), that number goes up to 67%.

According to CIRP, the share of iPhone XR in smartphone sales during the last fiscal quarter is the highest for a single model since the iPhone 6 in 2015 – and there is a reason for that: the price. As we know, the iPhone XR is Apple’s most affordable recent hardware, starting at $ 750 in the US (about $ 250 less than the iPhone XS).

Among the older models, the iPhone 8 follows as the gadget best seller, followed by his big brother (8 Plus). Even with almost three years of life, the iPhones 7 and 7 Plus remain relevant in the USA, despite having the lowest sales figures.

The CIRP survey also looked at some numbers for Apple’s various services. Among them, about 47% of iPhone users surveyed pay for iCloud storage, while 35% of them subscribe to Apple Music and approximately 16% use Apple TV. In addition, 3% to 6% of users purchased AppleCare for the iPhone and iPad.

CIRP based its research on its assessment of 500 Apple customers who purchased an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch from April to June this year.
