Chrome Beta for Android gets improvements

Google today announced an update to the Chrome app for Android that brings new features and support for 31 new languages.

Another novelty, according to the company, is in its availability: it can be installed in any country where Google Play is available.

Among the features implemented in this version are:

  • Viewing the desktop version of a website, in case you prefer not to see the mobile version.
  • Add bookmarks as shortcuts on the home screen, so you can get to your favorite sites faster.
  • Choose your favorite apps when handling open links in Chrome.
  • Use a proxy configuration for Wi-Fi access? You can now use Chrome with the proxy configured on Android.

Just like the previous version, the Chrome Beta app is only available for Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on smartphones and tablets.
