Microsoft Portugal made this Wednesday the temporary suspension of the promotional campaign offering Windows 7 for education.

The fact had been confirmed to Tek by the company yesterday, which justified the action due to a «technical and operational problem».

The same argument is disclosed today in a press release sent by the Portuguese subsidiary. «The ‘Sack your Upgrade’ campaign (…) was temporarily suspended due to a technical and operational failure», he says, adding that the situation «led to the temporary suspension of the site hosting the www.sacarupgrade.com campaign», starting from interested parties can order the product.

«The responsibility for this failure is entirely assumed by Microsoft Portugal, which already sincerely apologizes to all potential interested in the campaign».

According to the company, the technical problem is already solved, but it remains to «finalize the operational adjustment necessary for the execution of the campaign in the terms announced and for all audiences for which it was designed».

Without specifying an exact date, Microsoft promises to resume the campaign «as soon as possible».

The «Check Your Upgrade» campaign was launched earlier this week and comprises a promotional offer for the version of Windows 7 for the education segment, allowing students and teachers to upgrade to the new Microsoft operating system at a recommended price of 31.27 euros.
