At the turn of Friday for Saturday now, we published a first article with several hot things that leaked out from the precipitous release of verse Golden Master (GM) iOS 11 which should only have been published after the keynote of the special event for the next 12th. Yesterday afternoon, we complemented the first article with another batch of “delaes”.
Do you think it's over? To Apple's desperation, no.
Face ID configuration

– Guilherme Rambo (@_inside) September 9, 2017
So Guilherme Rambo again bringing us cool things. He was able to access the new Settings area dedicated to Face ID (which, like Touch ID, can be used to unlock the iPhone, for purchases in the iTunes / App Stores, for Safari passwords and, of course, also for Apple Pay ) and show us how to be the process of registering a face.
As we have already seen in the nice GIF that leaked before, the process consists of positioning the face in a circle and “rotating” the head, proving that it is a really three-dimensional reading and based on more than simply a flat image captured by the front camera of the device.
And more:
And it appears that Face ID occurs automatically but you double click the side button to confirm payment pic.twitter/NcN0u9KKTt
– Jeffrey Grossman (@ Jeffrey903) September 10, 2017
Second Jeffrey Grossman found, as the identification of the user's face tends to be quick and automatic on the “iPhone X”, confirmation of payments via Apple Pay will be made by double-clicking the side button of the device.
In addition, there are references of possible future support for Face ID on iPads and even iPod touch! Haven't they reached the end of the line yet? Will take.
Wireless charging
ChargingViewService confirms wireless charging. It will even show some 3D animations when charging (not present in GM tho) pic.twitter/JLBd4HQLpS
– Guilherme Rambo (@_inside) September 10, 2017
News strings found by Rambo prove, once again, that we will have wireless charging in the new iPhones. Unfortunately, it seems that it will be a recharge by contact, that is, via induction, as in the Apple Watch and in several Android smartphones already on the market.
Details of A11
The A11 SoC core is 'Mistral'
– Steve T-S (@stroughtonsmith) September 9, 2017
A11 Fusion is a 4 + 2 core device https://t.co/mqtIKcjBmG
– Steve T-S (@stroughtonsmith) September 10, 2017
Just to clarify on the A11: it's two high-power Monsoon colors and four low-power Mistral colors, all independently addressable. In Fusion
– Steve T-S (@stroughtonsmith) September 10, 2017
this sounds like it's going to be a Geekbench monster. RIP the rest of the industry
– Steve T-S (@stroughtonsmith) September 10, 2017
In a series of tweets, Steve Troughton-Smith account that the A11 be a system-on-a-chip of six cores in total, two for intensive tasks ("Monsoon") and four very energy efficient ("Mistral"). There are two more cores compared to the A10 chip on iPhones 7/7 Plus.
Incredible results are already expected in benchmark.

– Steve T-S (@stroughtonsmith) September 10, 2017
Steve T-S also confirmed, among the codes, that Apple TV needs a connection of at least 15Mbps to be able to make streaming 4K content requirement more than obvious, by the way.
In addition, the new Apple TV also supports a wide variety of color formats.

If you are a developer and managed to install iOS 11 GM before Apple stopped signing the build on its servers, Rambo put on GitHub a framework for those interested in testing how their apps will look with the new D22 status bar, that is, the “iPhone X”.
For now, s. And I hope the leaks will end here, after all, there is not much left for the keynote after tomorrow 🙄
Update 09/11/2017 s 14:48
In the Face ID part we covered above, there was already a reference to a possible new iPod touch arriving with support for the 3D facial recognition that we will see on the “iPhone X”.
NEW iPod8,1 found in iOS 11 GM.
In the GM it says "Unlock you iPod with your Face" in one of the strings for https://t.co/BVoc0LxdC5
– Benjamin Geskin (@ VenyaGeskin1) September 11, 2017
Then Benjamin Geskin also found evidence of a iPod8.1 on iOS 11 GM, while the current iPod touch (sixth generation, launched in July 2015) is the iPod7,1.
Does he really come after all?
