Apple TV +: change of main actor, backstage of “Little America” and low adoption of the test period

The news involving the productions of Apple TV + don?t stop! Without further ado, let?s get down to business because we have news involving two series and another that addresses the possible numbers of subscribers to the streaming of videos from Apple.

?Swagger?

Until then, the actor Winston Duke (?Black Panther? and ?We?) had been cast as the lead actor in the series ?Swagger?, based on the life and youth experiences of the basketball star Kevin Durant. But twists do happen, don?t they? Such as Variety informed, O?Shea Jackson (?Godzilla II: King of the Monsters?) will take the lead role.

O'Shea Jackson

That?s because Duke got hurt while filming, which forced him to give up on the series.

Thanks to Imagine, CBS and Apple TV + for the opportunity to collaborate on this project. As I work towards a complete recovery in the coming months, I look forward to joining everyone in future ventures. Congratulations to O?Shea ? I have no doubt that he will shine in that role.

?Little America?

The series ?Little America? has been receiving good praise out there. Surfing this wave, Apple released videos with backstage scenes from three episodes, check out:

Inspired by the true stories presented in Epic Magazine, ?Little America? goes beyond headlines to bring funny, romantic, heartfelt and surprising stories of immigrants to America to life. The first season consists of eight half-hour episodes, each with its own story from different parts of the world.

If you are already watching some episodes and like it, know that the second season of the series is guaranteed!

Low test period adoption

We recently commented that Apple TV + could have 30 million subscribers in the United States alone ? of course, taking into account that most are still not paying anything because of the benefit of a year of free subscription that Apple offered to those who bought a device (Mac, iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, or Apple TV).

But new reports clash with this possible success. And it came from Wall Street, more precisely from Toni Sacconaghi, from Bernstein ? shared by Investor?s Business Daily. The analyst estimates that less than 10 million of people accepted the free trial offer, too low a fee.

The analyst sees three possible explanations:

  1. Apple did not efficiently promote the service to its large user base;
  2. The company may be slowly scaling up promotions involving Apple TV + in order to mitigate the negative accounting impact of this start;
  3. Consumers are simply not liking the Apple TV +.

Hard to say who?s right ? the WSJ (which raised the possibility that the service already has 30 million subscribers) or the analyst in question. The fact is that the two numbers are totally contradictory, since if less than 10 million agreed to test the service, it is practically impossible to have more than two-thirds of those 30 million already paying while Apple offers so many benefits. It just doesn?t make sense.

We will see if new data related to this will emerge in the future to clarify the issue.
