CES: AURA launches new sensor bracelets for Apple Watch

THE Apple Watch was launched five years ago, and since then it has been speculated when (or even if) the watch bands will have additional sensors to those of the gadget in itself. So that users are not at the mercy of Apple’s “goodwill”, the AURA announced during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 their new line of bracelets – which are not only bracelets.

Baptized AURA Strap, the accessory allows users to calculate their body composition and track their hydration levels in addition to the data collected by the Apple Watch itself – that is, together they make quite a team.

The manufacturer says the bracelet does something similar to the bioimpedance test – except that it does not use electrical currents to analyze body composition. In addition, some features of the AURA Strap are already possible from the Apple Watch sensors, such as the notification of irregular beats.

According to the manufacturer, the data collected by the bracelet is synchronized with the Apple Watch “through an ultrasound interface” and that the accessory’s battery can last up to six months on a single charge, in addition to being as water resistant as the device itself. Apple Watch.

AURA Strap Colors

AURA Strap will be available for $ 100 from March, in four colors: black, red, gray and green. All are compatible with the fittings of the different models of Apple Watches.
