Google is adding new camera features of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. One of the most interesting is a kiss detection system that allows the lovebirds to take better selfies.
The new auto mode, available in version 6.2 of the app, called Photobooth (something like Photo Booth. The feature allows couples to forget the shutter button when trying to capture the perfect kiss: Photobooth will automatically take a photo when the camera is It can also detect smiles, sticking tongue, duck pout, puffed cheeks and surprised expressions, according to the Google AI Blog.

Photobooth uses AI to make selfies
The app conducts a basic scene quality assessment based on a content score. Then filter out moments that contain closed eyes, speech, motion blur or when detecting bad facial expressions or "failed" kisses.
The scene score takes into account both the quality of facial expression and what Google is calling the "kiss score". Because a varying number of faces may be present in each image, Photobooth applies a model of attention using the detected expressions to iteratively compute which face is worth foregrounding and which should be left in the background.
There is also an intelligence indicator, which you can see working on the GIF below. The white bar at the top of the image shows the current quality score – essentially showing the photographer what the algorithms think of your photo.

By moving your face, changing your expression or pouting, you can increase the length of the white bar, improving your 'score' until it reaches a level sufficient to trigger the shutter. The perfect photo is then captured and saved.
so it works in theory at least. Our colleagues at The Verge had mixed results when they tested the feature. Google says in its blog post: "Photobooth is an example of how we can grab a niche – selfies, smiling groups, funny expressions and kisses – and provide a fun and useful experience."
