Canonical announces Ubuntu for Android

Canonical, the company responsible for distributing Linux Ubuntu, today announced that it plans to bring the Ubuntu experience to Android devices.

“Forget the office PC. Just dock your phone and enjoy Ubuntu. Anywhere. The perfect integration of your work area and the mobile world ”, describes the company.

“The pure Android experience. it is exactly the same desktop used by millions of corporate and home users on their Ubuntu PCs and includes hundreds of certified productivity and office applications for photography, video and music ”.

Canonical intends to show the novelty at the Mobile World Congress event that will take place next February 27th.

The minimum requirements, on the other hand, have already been announced: 1 GHz processor, 2 GB of free storage, 512MB of RAM and HDMI output and USB host mode.
