Three months ago, Canalys released a survey that placed Apple as a leader in worldwide PC sales, because, in her methodology, they are on the cake not only on desktops and laptops, but also netbooks and tablets.

In an updated survey released yesterday, Canalys now said that Hewlett-Packard was able to regain the leadership of Apple. Apple's sum would have been 15.8 million, losing to HP by a mere 40,000 (yes, 0.04 million: -P) units.

Lenovo recorded an incredible growth of 50% year on year, ranking third. Completed the podium Acer and Dell, both with lower numbers than in 2011.

The consumer PC market as a whole grew by 21%, according to Canalys, reaching 107 million units.
