Canalys: considering tablets, Apple now easily leads the world PC market

Unlike other research firms, it has been a long time since the Canalys analyzes the worldwide PC market including tablets 7 inches or more. While in her last research Hewlett-Packard had managed to regain Apple's leadership, now the game has reversed itself again.

As you can see from the table, thanks to the third generation iPad (and iPad 2, now more accessible), Apple shot in the first worldwide position among PC manufacturers, with 19.4% market share. HP comes in second with 12.5%, closely followed by Lenovo, with 12.1%.

According to Canalys, tablet sales grew 75% from the second quarter of 2011 to c and now represent 22% of the total after Apple, the strongest in the segment, Samsung. 108.7 million PCs were sold in the period, an annual growth of 12%.
