Call recording is now available on Skype on (almost) all platforms.

Almost two months ago, Microsoft announced the Skype 8.0, a new version of its instant messenger that brought as its main novelty the multiplatform call recording. Now, finally, the update is coming for (almost) all operating systems and users will be able to save their links content wherever they are.

As we have already explained, the fully cloud based call recording feature is very simple. While on your desktop or mobile device, simply click the "+" during a call (video or audio) and select the corresponding option. The call audio will start to be captured immediately, as will the video of all participants (if applicable) and a notification will appear at the top of the screen warning everyone that that call is being recorded.

Once the recording is finished, the file is available for chat for 30 days and can be downloaded by all participants. You can also forward the recording to other contacts within Skype itself. To save a recording, just click the three dots next to it and select the appropriate option, which will be downloaded as an MP4 file.

For some mysterious reason, only the version of Skype for Windows 10 still doesn't have the feature; Microsoft claims it will arrive in the coming weeks. All other operating systems (macOS, iOS, Android) have already received the appropriate update and users can enjoy the news right now.
