Promoted by the Federal Government with inspiration on Black Friday, the action took place between September 6 and 15 with the objective of promoting discounts in more than 3,000 stores in electronic and physical retail in a period of poor sales performance. According to the organizers, the discounts reached 80%.

Just like the offer week that takes place in November, consumers had to take precautions to avoid falling for scams, such as checking price trends to see if the actual discount is and to be sure that the site visited is legitimate in case of online shopping.

Google Trends showed a spike in searches for Marvel's character Cyclops on September 15th. The reason was a joke that spread on social networks about the hero's inability to see colors other than red because of the laser-vision superpower. The joke soon turned into a viral meme and gained its own Facebook and Twitter pages and profiles.

On Twitter, @drogaciclope and @ciclopememes have amassed over 41,000 followers together so far. But it is not known who originated the viral. Interestingly, comic books themselves can invalidate the joke: One of the X-Men editions mentions that the display used by the character actually makes him see yellow.

6. Phishing on iPhone and Mac Users

A Kaspersky study released in September showed that the number of phishing scams targeted at users of Mac, iPhone and other Apple devices has risen from 1.6 million. The survey points out that one third of the victims in macOS were Brazilian. In nine months, the attacks have already passed 9% of the total number of reported cases in 2018.

It is believed that Apple users may be more susceptible to taking less precautions on the Internet. Despite its focus on phishing, the firm has also detected adware and malware Shlayer, a Trojan that is upgrading to Flash Player. To stay safe, it is important to have a good antivirus on your Mac and download apps preferably only from the official store.

An equation with two possible outcomes and the rabbit or crow polemic on Twitter, among other software issues in August, repeated the success among readers of the dnetc in the next month. The first highlight involved a seemingly simple equation 82 (2 + 2) that has two ways of doing. Already the second was a video that caused illusion of optics in those who watched. Other issues involved the discovery of audio transcription by Facebook paid professionals and privacy scandals featuring Apple and Amazon.
