BMW and Daimler would have given up on possible collaboration on the “Apple Car”

My friends, the engine of rumors about the mystic "Apple Car" it's in full swing! Or rather, all electricity. Today, the German newspaper Handelsblatt reported that two possible Apple collaborators on their alleged megalomaniac motorized project would have abandoned the boat. And we are not talking about any two companies, but about two of the biggest automotive brands in the world: BMW and the Daimler.

The newspaper had access to information through "industry sources" about the possible collaboration between Apple and BMW, which was already speculated for some time (1, 2). According to them, Ma would be looking for partners who could collaborate in the expertise in automotive projects after all, let's face it, designing smartphones quite different from cars. Talks with BMW, however, would have ended at the end of last year, while Daimler (owner of brands like Mercedes-Benz) would have put an end to the matter more recently.

It is also informed that the main reason for this rupture would be a dispute as to who would remain in the “leadership” of this investee. Our dear Apple, as we can imagine, did not want to drop the bone in any moment, causing the abandonment of the other companies. The question of who exactly would own the fruits of the research and the user data even more considering that a future Ma car would certainly be integrated with its services (iCloud) up to the bone marrow was also a major factor in said divorce.

As we already reported, Apple is now eyeing another manufacturer to recruit as a partner: Austrian (and lesser known) Magna Steyr. Amongst this, the secret laboratory in Berlin, the test centers and the co-optation of Tesla employees, I would not be surprised at all if this blessed car were shown in the next WWDC. T, just kidding
