If you are for some reason not satisfied with instant messaging services like Whatsapp and Viber, you might want to know about blah. This is the new application launched by TIM that integrates voice, messaging, video calling and VoIP calling services.
Blah is available for Android and iOS and is still in beta, but the company guarantees that the app will soon be compatible with the web and tablets, thus competing directly with Viber. With blah you can talk to up to four people at a time by VoIP and video call and up to 100 people via chat.
In the app's calendar, contacts are visually identified by circles that tell you if the contact has TIM or another carrier, helping to save on calls between customers of the same carrier. According to TIM, during its development, blah was tested by more than 24,000 TIM beta customers, who sent suggestions to improve the application.
The free blah is only the data traffic on the mobile network charged. The growing popularity of these instant messaging applications has been worrying operators, who have seen their SMS revenue drop. Last year Claro also launched a similar service, Joyn, which has not yet taken off. Either way, it's always good to have options.
