bitrzr prepares application for new version of iOS

(Updated) It may be this week that Apple will make available the new version of the iPad and iPhone operating system, 4.2, which supports new features and a feature especially important for Portugal: the interface and menus in Portuguese. Bitrzr, one of the first portuguese companies to offer an application for the iPad, already has its Cube ready and has guaranteed certification.

Earlier this month, Apple released the Golden Master version of the new iOS to developers, and from experience with version 4.1, it is expected that the final version will be ready for download by the owners of iPhones and iPads by the end of this week, or at the beginning next week.

The localization of iOS to Portuguese may pave the way for the expected commercialization of the iPad in Portugal, a speculation that TeK tried to confirm with Apple, but without success.

Pedro Morais, one of the founders of bitrzr.com, aligns with this expectation, but also underlines the novelties of the new operating system in terms of multi-task support on the iPad and in the printing capacity to justify the quick adaptation of the Cube, a tool time and expense tracking, integrated with Google Apps.

cubeThe new version of Cube has already secured Apple’s approval, and should be available on the AppStore in the coming days, at the same time as the new version of iOS. At least that is bitrzr’s expectation.

Apple normally gives priority to applications with more innovation in the certification process that precedes the presence in the application store, explains Pedro Morais, always trying to have a set of applications ready for the pioneers of the new versions of the operating systems to try.

As TeK had already written, Cube was one of the first apps on the App Store prepared for the iPad. Time and expense management software is available for iPhone and iPad and has been downloaded 20,000 times from the Apple store.

Cube was also one of the national finalists for Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2010, which was eventually won by the Portuguese company Cardmobili.

Apple guarantees that the new version of the operating system brings more speed to the iPhone, also allowing multi-tasking on the iPad and improved email management. The audio, video and photo streaming system for the new Apple TV and other devices compatible with AirPlay and the AirPrint wireless printing capability for some HP printer models are also among the improvements in the new version.

Editorial Note: The news was updated with the information that the application has already been approved by Apple, which was not yet guaranteed this morning.
