Best Weather Forecast Apps – Android

Knowing what the weather will be like not only in one day, but at least all week, is absolutely necessary for people to be able to plan their activities. And because your smartphone is a constant companion, there's no better instrument to help you stay up to date at all times.

There are a lot of weather apps in the Google app store, some more complete and full of extra features. Others with simpler interfaces, ideal for those who want to get to the point. Here are four of them to help you choose which one best suits your needs.

Time 14 days

Indicated for:

Who wants to know in the smallest detail the weather forecast for no less than 14 days, which gives plenty of time to program.

Weather 14 Days is an application that provides a flood of weather information, without leaving behind ease of use and without appealing to many confusing menus and buttons. The hourly forecast for each day is the most detailed among applications of its kind.

The app has so many functions that unfortunately some simply do not work outside of Europe. The app, developed there, brings map animations about cloudiness, precipitation, temperature and other weather features. A very interesting but totally useless resource for Brazilians.

Accuweather

Indicated for:

Who wants super detailed information about the weather, including graphics showing the variations, without getting lost in a very large number of menus.

Accuweather stands out for its beautifully crafted, out-of-clichΓ© look, and the sheer amount of settings that help the user customize the application experience. Charts that show the temperature change over a single day or over several days help you see quickly and intuitively how the weather will behave over a period of time.

With so many options and visuals, Accuweather is a bit heavy and slower than other style apps. In addition, he brings news and videos, but only about the United States.

WeatherBug

Indicated for:

Tailored for those who understand the subject and want to customize the app to the full, as well as check if the weather is appropriate for various lifestyle activities.

The WeatherBug is very detailed, but it puts some things aside, such as more widgets and animation options, to offer them in the paid version of the app. Even so, the free app works satisfactorily with detailed weather data. One difference is the "lifestyle" part, which shows how the weather variations of the week can positively or negatively affect aspects such as family outings, sports and body care.

On the downside, the app features confusing menus with unintuitive icons, and some features that work only in the United States, such as camera images and real-time warnings about dangerous conditions.

Weather Channel

Indicated for:

People who do not care about very technical or detailed information about the weather, and who seek little complication in navigation and settings.

Weather Channel is a very beautiful and simple to use application, but less complete in the variety of information. It brings the current forecast and for nine more days and illustrates the current conditions with a beautifully produced background photograph. Moreover, its video section is not entirely useless for those outside the United States, as it shows phenomena of general interest, such as particularly strong rays and solar storms.

The app sins for poor settings and poor widgets that don't even allow you to switch between locations.

All weather apps inform the user about the basics: temperature, sky conditions, cloudiness, possible rain and an extended forecast for a few more days.

Some apps go further, such as Accuweather and WeatherBug, packed with more technical and detailed information, including helping sports enthusiasts plan their activities. Others, such as the Weather Channel, include videos on mathematical topics.

They all offer updated widgets in real time and are free. What will definitely help you decide on one are extras such as multimedia content and animated maps.
