Best custom ROMs based on Android Nougat

LineageOS

Continued from the old CyanogenMod, LineageOS seeks to be a simple custom ROM, very similar to the Moto and Nexus line device ROMs, both in look and feature. The most well-known ROM present in this article.

One item that according to LineageOS users is lacking with respect to CyanogenMod is the theme engine, as LineageOS does not have its own theme engine or substratum support. But the ROM team is working on ROM's own theme engine. You can check official support and download officially supported builds at this link.

ViperOS

ViperOS is a LineageOS-based ROM developed by a team of Brazilian developers. ROM is focused on stability, but includes customization features that would be useful to users to enhance the ROM experience.

ROM has an advantage as the developer team has included users of OnePlus 3T, this phone being famous for software optimization; and Moto G3, a device known for relatively weak hardware. ViperOS has drawn a lot of attention from users of custom ROMs, especially for stability and optimization.

AOSiP / halegonOS (XOS)

AOSiP and halogen ROMs (also called XOS) are based on AOSP-CAF, for the same purpose as ViperOS, ie to be stable and offer customization options that give the user the best experience, thus avoiding possible high quantity bugs of customization options. Because they are based on AOSP-CAF, the stability and flowability of both are amazing.

Those wondering what CAF would be like is nothing more than the acronym Code Aurora Forum, Qualcomm's website where kernels and other sources are released to manufacturers using the company's SoCs. Because work has been done on the source for Qualcomm chip devices, stability and fluidity are fantastic.

Remember that both are different ROMs and their developers have different focuses for ROMs. Verifying official support and downloading builds from both ROMs should be checked at XDA-Developers website forum.

Paranoid Android

Another old acquaintance of the community, Paranoid Android recently underwent changes that made the ROM reborn. ROM is well known for its high amount of customization features as well as its stability. Based on AOSP, it has become so famous that some developers go to OnePlus, where they obviously work in the company's software division.

If the above customization question of AOKP is equal or better stability, Paranoid Android is without doubt an excellent ROM. You can check official support and download officially supported builds at this link.

AOKP

One of the oldest ROMs in the world of custom ROMs, the Android Open Kang Project, based on LineageOS. AOKP has as its mascot a unicorn, which as some know, is also the mascot of Dirty Unicorns. It is a beautiful ROM and has some more features than ViperOS, for example, like Control Pie. ROM is well known for having a lot of customization features and being very stable.

AOKP has its own nightlies and recoveries, but some developers are not allowed to make unofficial builds with some extra features, such as some gestures and system modification apps, such as kernel auditors. Obviously the recoveries provided by the AOKP team cannot be used with unofficial builds. You can check official support and download officially supported builds at this link.

PureNexus

PureNexus was originally a ROM exclusive to Google mobile phones, but the community's work on the source code enables it to be taken to other devices. Very stable and with some customization features, PureNexus is undoubtedly the ideal ROM. It already comes with GApps preinstalled so no error will occur during the installation of it.

PureNexus consumes more battery, but there is no way to complain about it. Verifying official support and downloading builds from both ROMs should be checked at XDA-Developers website forum.

ROM dictates as one of the most fluds as well. Based on LineageOS, ROM is also one of the most common Android devices on XDA-Developers.

You can check official support and download officially supported builds at this link. On some devices, like Moto Maxx, there are newer official builds on the XDA forum, not available on the download site. Reason? I have no idea.

AOSP Extended

One of today's most praised ROMs, AOSP Extended (AEX) has won fs for its fluidity. Following the same principle as ViperOS, AOSiP and others present in this article. ROM has gained a reputation so fast that it has become quite common among the community in months and praise it is also quite common.

Another important question: cad CitrusOS, AquariusOS, Vertex, Carbon ROM and etc? Do not worry. The ROMs in the article are some of the most praised in the community. Unfortunately we can't describe them all now, since the purpose of the article is not to be an encyclopedia.
