BenQ Mobile presents itself to the market and details new equipment

COLLAB distinguished with the APDC / Siemens Innovation Award

BenQ Mobile presented itself to the market yesterday at a ceremony that also served to make known the strategy and the first models for 2006. The new business unit, which results from the acquisition of the Siemens mobile phone unit, guarantees that it intends to affirm its position in the mobile industry expanding the offer directed to the third generation market and betting on the use of multimedia resources.

One of the commitments made by the company at this level has to do with 3G launches, which BenQ Mobile guarantees will be at least a third of the total equipment presented this year. This range of commitments also includes the intention of three out of four products to have a music player or FM radio. One in two terminals will also have a camera with at least 1.3 megapixels.

The first three products of this BenQ-Siemens brand partnership – which will continue until 2007, when the Siemens name disappears from the brand – were identified as EF81, S68 and S88 and in common they are committed to a design elegant with finishes Premium metallized.

The EF81, the equipment that the brand highlights as a symbol of its market positioning, is already a 3G terminal that focuses on small size and multimedia features.
