As planned, Meo today announced the availability of the Sport Lisboa e Benfica TV channel on the company’s IPTV and Satellite grid. The Benfica Channel will be part of the Sports Package and can be integrated into the base package at no additional cost. In the service distributed by satellite, the channel will be part of Meo Mix.
According to Portugal Telecom, this channel, which will be available in the last quarter of 2008, follows the company’s new sponsorship contract with the Clube da Luz until the 2010/2011 season, just as it happens with Sporting and Porto.
Just this week, Meo announced the availability of five television channels from other European clubs, namely Real Madrid TV, Barça TV, Manchester United TV, Chelsea TV and Inter Channel. With the entry of Benfica Channel, the company’s sports content offer reaches 18 channels in total of its offer.
