Apple did not drop a press release on the subject and the day was certainly from desktops (iMacs, Macs mini, Macs Pro, in addition to the Wi-Fi bases and new keyboard), but the intermediate 15-inch MacBook Pro also won today a small update you will understand.
The company's online store has already been updated with the offer, which now offers a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, instead of 2.53GHz. The price remains the same $ 2,500 and, apparently, nothing else has been changed by there.
With this, the 15 ″ model becomes more comparable to the new 17 ″, which costs US $ 300 more, but comes with a larger screen (and optional matte model) and a sealed battery that offers eight hours of average duration.
Update (3/3/2009 at 12:28 pm): the optional top-of-the-line model also went from 2.8GHz to 2.93GHz. In addition, there is now the possibility to exchange the hard disk for a 256GB SSD, both in 13 ″ MacBooks and 15 ″ MacBooks Pro.
