The documentary produced by Apple tells the story of Cash Money Records, prestigious hip-hop label that introduced artists like Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne to the world. When we talked about the project here the day before yesterday, it was just a very likely rumor especially considering the «teaser» posted by rapper Bryan ?Birdman? Williams talking about a ?big deal? with Apple. Now, the thing is more concrete than ever with the new promotional material.
The documentary joins a series of other Apple and Apple Music projects and releases related to the world of rap. Among this, Dr. Dre’s upcoming series, Frank Ocean’s ?visual album? released exclusively last week and a clear focus on musical style on Beats 1 radio, it is evident that hip-hop is Apple’s favorite music genre in it was Tim Cook / Beats, before the classic rock of the times of Steve Jobs.
