Apple TV +: “Beastie Boys Story” trailer; new series with Uma Thurman; interrupted recordings

Another day, another wave of news about the Apple TV +! Well, without delay, let’s go to them.

«Beastie Boys Story»

We already talked about «Beastie Boys Story», documentary about the famous group of hip hop American film that was acquired by Apple and will be shown in theaters before arriving on Apple TV +. Because Apple has now decided to release the promotional material for the film, with a brand new poster and trailer.

First, check out the poster:

And here, the trailer for the documentary:

For those who are not aware, this is a production directed by Spike Jonze, Oscar-winning filmmaker for «Her» – and that, last year, he directed the already famous HomePod commercial starring the singer FKA Twigs. The film, co-written by Jonze in partnership with Mike Diamond and Adam Horowitz (former members of the band), brings the history of the group and serves as a tribute to the 26th anniversary of the most famous album of the Beastie Boys, «Ill Communication».

«Beastie Boys Story» will be shown in selected IMAX theaters from the day April 2nd and there is even a special page for ticket sales; unfortunately, sessions are limited to some cities in the United States. Anyway, the documentary can be watched on Apple TV + a few weeks later, starting on the day 4/24.

«Suspicion»

Meanwhile, the Apple continues to attract stars to your team. The most recent contract is for Uma Thurman («Kill Bill») – she will star in a new series, called «Suspicion».

The series, adapted from Israeli production «False Flag», revolves around the kidnapping of the son of a famous American businesswoman, played by Thurman; the case soon goes viral around the world, while four British citizens staying at the same hotel where the crime took place become the prime suspects.

In addition to Thurman, the series will feature the talents of Kunal Nayyar, Noah Emmerich, Georgina Campbell, Elyes Gabel, Elizabeth Henstridge and Angel Coulby; Rob Williams will be the showrunner and executive producer, while Chris Long will direct the episodes. There is still no information about recordings or release date, but we will keep an eye out.

Recordings of interrupted series

Finally, the deadline reported that the recordings of the second season of «The Morning Show» were suspended for two weeks – all, of course, as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread (even greater, that is) of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The decision was made by Media Res, the series’ main producer. The studio’s CEO, Michael Ellenberg, declared the following:

Together with our dedicated partners at Apple, we concluded that it would be prudent to take a two-week hiatus to assess the situation and ensure the safety of the incredible people who make the series.

It is not yet known whether the interruption will last only the two weeks predicted or will last longer; there is also no way to predict, yet, if the premiere of the second season of «The Morning Show» will be affected by the decision – previously, it was expected to open in late 2020, but we will have to wait for news in this regard.

Already in Ireland, as also reported deadline, Apple also decided to stop recording the sci-fi series «Foundation», which will star Lee Pace and Jared Harris.

Skydance, together with Apple, decided to take the decision to temporarily suspend the filming of «Foundation». The health and safety of our cast and staff are top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely.

The current forecast is that the series will premiere in the autumn of the northern hemisphere (our spring), but these plans may obviously be postponed.
