We've already seen speed tests of the new MacBooks Air, the new Macs mini and even Snow Leopard Vs. OS X Lion, but now it's time to check out the benchmarks from Bare Feats.
This time, five machines were put on the price among them one of the new Airs and one of the new minis:
- 2011 MBP 2.3 Core i7: 2011 MacBook Pro with Intel Core i7 processor quad-core 2.3GHz, 8GB DDR3 1.333MHz SDRAM and AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics chipset with 1GB DDR5 memory.
- 2011 MBP 2.7 Core i7: 2011 MacBook Pro with Intel Core i7 processor quad-core 2.7GHz, 8GB DDR3 1.333MHz SDRAM and integrated Intel HD 3000 GPU that uses 384MB of main memory.
- 2011 mini 2.5 Core i5: 2011 Mac mini with Intel Core i5 processor dual-core 2.5GHz, 4GB DDR3 1.333MHz SDRAM and AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics chipset with 256MB of DDR5 memory.
- 2011 MBA 1.8 Core i7: 2011 MacBook Air, with Intel Core i7 processor dual-core 1.8GHz, 4GB of 1,333MHz DDR3 SDRAM and integrated Intel HD 3000 GPU that uses 384MB of main memory.
- 2010 MBA 2.13: MacBook Air 2010, with 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB 1.066MHz DDR3 SDRAM and NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics chipset that uses 256MB of main memory.
All laptops were configured with Apple's 256GB SSDs. The first MBP and the first MBA were running OS X Lion; the others, Snow Leopard.
In the Cinebench 11.5 test, the better the score, the faster the machine:
In the Handbrake test, the lower the bar, the faster the execution:
In Motion 5, the count per frames per second (the more the better):
In Portal the base is also only fps, so the bigger the bar, the better:
Not bad, huh?
