Baldurs Gate 3 (or Baldurs Gate III) is one of the most anticipated games for RPG fans in 2020. Developed by Larian Studios, the new game brings in the root a very welcome similarity with another title of the same stadium, Divinity: Original Sin 2, that considered one of the best RPG games for computer. And it seems that he promises to exceed the expectations of many.
It turns out that during the PAX East 2020, Baldurs Gate 3 had, in addition to the opening video revealed, the gameplay shown for the first time and the internet was crazy with the novelty. But why is the game getting so much attention?
A mix of success and RPG
The success of Baldurs Gate 3 has to do, in large part, by mixing a turn-based game that emerged in a world bathed in the references, rules and systems of the famous D&D, that is, Dungeons and Dragons. In addition, of course, we already lavish a very beautiful look with realistic graphics, even if it is still in development.
The game system resembles other stadium titles, with the control of 2 characters for local games and singleplayer, and up to 4 characters to multiplayer cooperative. Furthermore, Baldurs Gate 3 it still adds an element that is basically the symbol of RPG games: the D20 die.
During gambling, some actions are dependent on the number of dice and seeing it spinning on the small screen waiting for a good result is an experience that brings players closer to feeling like a classic table RPG.
Verticality at Baldurs Gate 3
In Baldur’s Gate 3, it is possible to make jumps, but be careful as they can be deadlyAnother interesting point in the game are the maps and the so-called verticality of the game. This means that it is possible to change the level of the terrain with jumps that need to be well calculated, or end up becoming too dangerous and even deadly.

Creativity is also needed, since virtually any object in the game can be manipulated. Sometimes the difference in getting a jump to explore a roof can be in the leftover box in the corner of the scenario.

And, in that regard, Baldurs Gate 3 does not disappoint. The turn-based game with strategies and a dash of luck in the dice manages to convey to the computer screen the feeling of being in a table RPG session with mastery, adding advantageous details such as the visual experience.
In fact, the developer herself stated that the idea really made the player feel like playing in an RPG on a map made by them, and where they would be the master narrator.
Playing with friends

One of the interesting details of cooperative gambling that the player can see the scenes of dialogues of other players and even some important or dramatic scenes.
As an example, in one of the scenes, if one of the players is playing Astarion, a vampire character, the others can see when, in the middle of the night, he has to choose between attacking and feeding on someone who is unconscious or not.

Here it is worth mentioning that, just like Divinity: Original Sin 2, O Baldurs Gate 3 also offers a range of characters already created with interesting stories for a background more rich. On the other hand, for those who prefer to create their character from scratch to be unique, the game still offers a multitude of details and customization possibilities so that everything is as perfect as possible.
The gameplay
At the gameplay launched, it is possible to note other interesting details such as the two options for using the cameras. In the first it can be positioned from above as a common third-person game, in the second it is further behind the character, as someone who has a closer view of his.
During the dialogs it is also possible to note that there are several response options, giving the player more control and more openness to choose the one they like best. In addition, these options are often just gestures and reactions of the characters, which helps to form a personality and affect the story.
During combat, it is possible to see the percentage of chance that the character has to hit the enemy, and even move to increase this percentage, for example, going to higher ground and guaranteeing the advantage.

Baldur’s Gate 3 be launched on Steam this year, however, there is no confirmed launch date for now. A cool novelty is that the game will also have a version for Stadia, the video game streaming service produced by Google and launched in November last year.
