Bad news: iPod touch 4G screen is not the same as iPhone 4

Apparently Apple is not even willing to allow the iPod touch to steal the show: we haven't noticed it yet, but the Apple page that talks about the Retina screen of this new generation of touch does not bring any reference to IPS technology (In-Plane Switching), which allows color fidelity even at extreme angles. Comparatively, the description of the iPhone 4 gives a lot of emphasis to this feature.

The video above, made by EngadgetIt leaves no doubt: when viewed side by side at an extreme angle, the colors on the gadget screens are completely different. This may not even be such a determining factor when choosing between one and the other, but it still marks yet another way that Apple found to cheapen the manufacture of the gadget. I didn’t like to know that, but it’s better to be surprised now than after buying.

Does the touch also have no oleophobic coverage, contrast 800: 1 or 500cd / m? This calls for a thorough investigation, as the technical specifications of the iPod touch and iPhone 4 are totally different.
