This week, a friend called me in desperation because he had factory reset the device without backing up the phone. What now, Jos? There are different ways to recover your phone data, one of which is to back up your information using your Google account. Below you can check how to use your android to store contact and app data.
Google's operating system has a very powerful data backup feature for smartphones. However, because of some limitations of this feature, some users opt for third party apps. Today, I will show you how to save your phone data from what Android offers. The device used to illustrate this Android for Beginners was Moto G.
1. To get started, you need to enable your device sync on Settings> On Accounts v go to Google.
2. Click on your Google account and check all options.
3 Go back to Settings> Personal> Back Up and Reset and check the "Data backup" and "Automatic restore" options, Be sure to check if "Backup Account" is the Gmail account you use.
Once this is done, if you need to reset your phone to factory or even device change status, when you sign in with your Gmail account, all your apps installed on your current phone will be downloaded from Google's servers, as well as like passwords for Wi-Fi networks and other settings.
Although we can rely on some features through this service, it is still mostly restricted to Google apps when it comes to downloading updated data like Calendar, Chrome, Contacts, App Data, People Details, Drive, G + Photos, Gmail, Google Photos, Google Play Movies, Books, Music, and Keep. You can count on a third-party application backup, but don't expect to open a game at the same level you last left it.
Next week, I'll show you a list of apps to back up your Android phone messages. And what do you think about Android's native backup service? Let us know your opinion in the comments below.
