Avis Rent a Car customers will now have a new service associated with car rental.
For $ 10.95 the company offers Avis Connect, a wireless Internet solution that can be used inside rented vehicles, hotel rooms or other places where the customer can pass during a trip.
The news advanced by the Associated Press also states that the service is provided through a device manufactured by Autonet Mobile that is capable of transmitting Wi-Fi signals to several terminals and simultaneously.
In turn, network connections will be provided by mobile operators, namely Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel.
With its premiere scheduled for today at the San Francisco San Jose airport in California, Avis Connect will also arrive in Los Angeles and Newark in the coming weeks.
In the third quarter the same solution will be available in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York, San Diego and Seattle.
For the time being the offer extends only to North American cities, it is not yet known whether, in the future, the service will be extended to other markets.
