Both companies announced a new phase in their strategic collaboration, which marked the launch of new offers to users of Nokia Eseries. At issue is the commercialization of a solution that will give users of the referred equipment a single access number when they move from a private Wi-Fi network to public mobile networks, using the same equipment.

In a statement issued by Avaya, the solution, called Avaya one-X Mobile Dual Mode Edition, allows customers to transfer calls by making just one call. click using communication in mode dual. In this way, it is possible to use a single mobile device, both inside a building with a Wi-Fi network, and outside the premises with a mobile phone network.

The service combines IP technology with the Nokia E60, E61 and E70 business devices and offers customers the benefits of fixed-mobile convergence, companies say.

It remains to be noted that Avaya will market the application as part of its IP telephony portfolio, while Nokia will sell the product through the operators with whom it works and in other channels.
