Information released today by The Inquirer indicate that Intel is preparing to launch the chips Xeon E5 officially until next week, which opens doors to the long-awaited arrival of new Macs Pro if they are not even going to use the “Ivy Bridge” generation, as recently commented. Non-nominated manufacturers would already be testing machines with the new chips, and Apple may be on the cake. One of the few that has already committed to the adoption of the Xeon E5 was Dell.

The new line from Intel will feature models ranging from four to eight cores per chip, which would allow Apple to continue offering a wide range of Mac Pro models, with varying configurations and prices. The top-of-the-line model would feature two processors octo-core totaling 16 cores in total, therefore.

The first benchmarks performance of the Xeon E5 should only be painted after an official statement by Intel.
