According to the Autonews website, Google plans to launch its Android platform for cars later this month. The publication reports that Google has developed a service that “projects” data and applications from an Android device for display on a car dashboard.
“The Google system, known internally as Google Auto Link during development, will be the first product to leave the Open Automotive Alliance, a consortium led by Google, which also includes Audi, General Motors, Honda Motor, Hyundai and the chip maker NVIDIA ”, mentions Autonews.
The sources also said that Google Auto Link will function as an embedded information and entertainment system, but a “designed” system – allowing smartphones using Google’s Android operating system to be controlled using the car’s controls and on the display screen.
The Mountain View giant would have plans to reveal the interface and offer demos to developers at the Google I / O conference, scheduled for June 25 and 26 in San Francisco, USA.
