Asus has revealed to Bloomberg that it intends to adapt the Android operating system to its mini computers. According to the company, several engineers are already working on the platform’s conversion process, trying to adapt it to computers.
At first, the manufacturer only sold computers equipped with the Linux operating system, although a while later it agreed with Microsoft to place Windows XP on the machines.
Calvin Huang, an analyst at Daiwa Securities Group, said that if Asus succeeds in pursuing this strategy and «with the strength of Google behind it, Android could really challenge Microsoft by robbing it of market share».
This is not the first time Asus has approached Android. In January, the manufacturer announced that it was developing the new smartphone with the Google platform.
