Asustek announced that it intends to reformulate its line of products netbooks, betting on the offer of a smaller number of models. With the action, the company wants to reduce production costs and avoid confusion among consumers, due to the high number of versions on the market.
In its own accounts, the manufacturer sold 4.9 million low-cost notebooks during the past year, a result slightly below the projected five million.
With the changes, Asus expects to sell one million units of the Eee PC in the first quarter of this year. The volume is lower than that registered in the last quarter of last year, when sales were 1.6 million units.
